The Autocab System comprises two main components: i) the taxi management and dispatch software within the company’s base, ii) the fleets’ data terminals in the vehicles.
Information and data is sent between these two components allowing the operator to allocate jobs to active drivers, monitor and locate cars at all times and also view all zones in extensive detail. The data terminal plots the driver’s journey guiding him or her to the pick-up point and destination, saving both time and money. Data dispatch is a far more efficient method of dispatching jobs than conventional voice. Once the operator receives a call and enters the booking in to the system, the job is dispatched instantly to the driver’s data terminal. This is more than twenty times faster than any operator can dispatch over a voice channel.

When entering a booking the operator needs only to confirm the date and time, type in the house number and the first letter of the address and press enter, a list of addresses is then displayed and the operator can simply select the correct one KEEP TRACK OF YOUR OPERATORS AND HELP RESOLVE DISPUTES Each time the operator enters or amends a booking the system will keep a record of the time and identity of the user and display a note next to the booking. This can help resolve disputes over bookings as you will know which operator is responsible for the appropriate booking.

E-BOOKING E-Booking is simple, convenient and offers many options to the user such as different job types, job history and multiple vias. Customers can even track their car on a street level GPS map to monitor the job’s progress.With e-Booking your customers can book a taxi directly on-line using their own virtual booking station.
The template for the booking screen is designed by you and can be varied to cater for each customer’s needs. This adds an extra dimension to your booking facilities with virtually every business and household having internet access. Your customer simply logs on to the e-booking web page (provided by Autocab) and enters the necessary details.
You can then either have the system book this job directly or be passed to the dispatcher for approval. CALL LINE IDENTIFICATION (CLI) Simple but useful feature providing a better service to customers. CLI enables your system to read the caller’s number before the line is answered.
If the caller has previously booked a job with your company the system will display the last job to the operator who can either accept or edit it. This saves time and effort but also reduces the risk of typing mistakes.With CLI there is no disruption to your office and the customer database of jobs is built up within a week.
RING BACK Ring Back is a very useful feature for both your taxi drivers and customers. When the driver arrives at the pick-up point they simply press a button on the data terminal to tell the system to initiate Ring Back. The system will then ring the customer’s phone alerting them that their taxi is waiting outside. Just one or two rings is enough – the system will then terminate the call. You can even advise your customers to save the call as ‘taxi waiting’ so it will be displayed on their mobile next time they use the service. Ring Back will benefit the driver when the customer is on the top floor in a block of flats or in a busy restaurant.
TEXT BACK Text Back is an alternative to Ring Back and just as simple to use. These messages can be sent to the customer’s phone at three different times, - When the job has been dispatched.
When the taxi is waiting outside- As a ‘thank you’ a few minutes after the journey has been completed. The text message is completely customisable for each taxi firm, so, you can add a more personal touch such as “thank you for using XYZ Cars”.Text Back is also a great way to advertise your taxi services as you could insert a line at the end of the message saying “try our new IVR & e-booking service and get a taxi quicker! LOYALTY CARD Set up your own loyalty card scheme for your account and regular customers and provide them with points and rewards for using your service. Our touch-screen data terminals have a swipe card reader built in so your customers can present their card to the driver who can then swipe it to add points or pay for fares from the credit balance. Another use for this facility is gift or top-up cards, where cards can be pre-loaded with credit, similar to pay-as-you-go schemes. SMS BOOKING This provides a convenient way for your regular and account customers to book taxis from their mobile phone simply by sending a text message. There is no need to go through the operator when using Text Booking as it is fully automated.SMS Text Booking uses a series of text strings, or commands, that the system recognises to book particular jobs.
TEXT POINT Text Point is a simple yet effective method of booking a taxi by sending an SMS text message. Your customer can simply send ‘Pick up’ to your unique number, usually consisting of five digits, to book a taxi. The system will automatically book the taxi and send a confirmation text to confirm the booking.
Text Point can increase revenue as well as bookings as a small fee can be charged for using the service which is debited from the users phone bill/credit. It can be set up almost anywhere such as in a pub, club, supermarket or shopping centre etc and you advertise it with a poster or banner.
