No it would no be worth the cost to change you would need to install a clutch pedal a hyd master cylinder and slave cylinder for the clutch as well as change the fly wheel on the motor and possibly the starter as well install a shifter and linkage it would run into about 1500 dollars or more to do this conversion. Most people go from standard to automatic it is a little less things that get changed but on a front wheel drive it would be very costly.

Answer Saying that it isn't worth it is a very inappropriate answer. You have to weigh what you want from the vehicle against the costs. Yes, it will run him probably $800-$1500 or less, but if you choose to have a highly performance tuned engine, then having a manual transmission for both it's increased strength and control of the vehicle might be considered 'worth it'. Answer It would be more cost effective to sell your auto and buy a manual.

Answer no Honda 'performance' engine is going to be in an automatic car to begin with. Sell the car and buy a manual tranny car and be happy. Answer It depends on how customized the car is.

If the guy's put a lot of time and money into fixing the car up and he's generally happy with it (except for the transmission), then yeah, changing out the trans wouldn't be unreasonable. If the car's white with stock interior, definitely just trade it in on one with a manual.

Besides, if he tries selling the car and it is really Fast and Furious, the people who want a car like that are gonna take one look and think the same thing the poster is: 'what's this automatic.?' The procedure's simple to understand: buy a wrecked car, park it next to yours and transfer everything under the hood, plus the pedals, shifter, computer and (probably) console, from the wreck to your car. Figure two to three months if you've got plenty of tools. Answer It is worth it imo i did it on my 03 civic ex and cost my 400 dollars to do it and i installed everything myself. But if you don't like the auto go on civic forums and find used parts that's the best way to go.

U can always find good deals on parts. Just like the oil pan there is a drain bolt. Unscrew that bolt and drain the transmission fluid into a proper container. There should also be a filler bolt above the drain bolt. Put the drain bolt back in and take the filler bolt out.

If accessible from the top, pour in the replacement fluid through a funnel and long hose. If you can wiggle the hose in from the top you may need a pump to get the fluid back in.

When you get enough fluid in it will start to run out of the filler bolt hole, that's normal. When the fluid stops running out you can put the filler bolt back in. Start the car and let it run for a few minutes. You can drive it around slowly and carefully for a little while, but may want to check the fluid level after your drive and refill if needed. I usually work it at about 50:1 ratio. That's 50 parts petrol to one part 2 stroke oil.

You might find it useful to purchase a small mixing cup (like a Ratio Rite). It'll let you mix easily no matter how much fuel you have. If you were smart you would run 40:1 and have your bike last longer. Most manufacturers recommend 32:1 ratio as this provides the best lubrication and will prolong the life of your piston and cylinder. If you run too lean (ie-50:1, you will go through pistons and cylinders much quicker) The only problem with running too much oil is you can foul plugs, so it will take a little trial and error as each bike is a little different. I personally run about 38:1 (according to the ratio rite cup) on my Suzuki RM 125. Keep in mind, if you run less oil, you are also making your bike run richer, so you may have to adjust your carburetor jet settings to compensate for it.

Your best bet is to call your local Honda dealer and ask them the correct ratio for the bike, better yet, get the repair manual. (and definitely don't run 50:1 unless you like frying your piston).

If your manual isn't in that list, try looking here: (various) (all aprillia) (honda - as in wiki) (suzuki & yamaha) and again carlsalter.com, lots of random bike manuals if you find some of the links don't work, it may be because the url box is missing or it says ttp: instead of http - use your initiative. If you're stuck, either pm me or as a last resort, you could even try google lol.some of the links on badongo have been taken down, as have some on megaupload. Dont pay for a premium account to get a manual - try blackbear or another link first all the mediafire files work.

That must have taken quite a bit of time for you to post all of those links! Never even heard of the Suzuki DR750/800's Eric lol = google is my friend. Seems a shame to let these manuals go when people are always asking for info. Most are stolen from other sites from posters who stole them from other sites, so be patient if some links dont work - they are out there! Please add any you find - as long as they are free and no spam links dr800?? Not seen one myself but had a go on a dr600 was a kickstart bike, big 4 stroke single roadgoing dirt bike - lanky sod.

I had to lean it right over to kick it over and remember it almost shattering my kneecap when it kicked back! Vicious low end pull. Must've rode it 50 yards before i got off. Not one for me! Obviously some members dont know where to look or they wouldnt be asking.

I see no harm in posting links to files that other people are hosting for free on their sites. This forum is not infringing any copyright laws by displaying links that already exist. All this is, is a compilation of files, freely available elsewhere on the internet, to save members having to search for themselves. Feel free to remove the thread if you think it is illegal - the links wont go away, the free files will still be there, but people in need will have to go to a lot of trouble to find them. 1998 Honda VT750 Shadow From the 1st link in this thread asuming it's one of these, below.

Very slow download atm tho, its a 184mb file, but it's the full honda shop manual.pdf there's a faster dl here of the same file from the honda wiki or an instant rom pdf manual here no download rqd. None of the links require login or password or subscription afaik, though i haven't tried them all lol, yet. Some have expired with their host due to not being downloaded enough but if you find one that doesn't work & you need it, let me know.
