Issued a recall on July 29, 2016 for the 2015 and 2016 Honda Pilot 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive vehicles due to a faulty fuel tanks. The tanks were manufactured with insufficient welds that could separate and allow fuuel to leak, potentially causing a fire risk. Other vehicles affect including the 2015 and 2016 Honda Odyssey and certain Acura vehicles.
The auto maker will fix the problem free of charge and owners may call Honda customer service at 888-234-2138. The automaker also issued a recall involving defective warning lights operating on the dashboard for the 2016 Honda Pilot 2WD vehicles made between May 4 and Sept. 8, 2015 and 4WD vehicles made May 7 and Sept. The instrument panel may not illuminate to alert the driver of electrical problems such as anti-lock brakes malfunctioning.
